Capitol Hill Community Achievement Awards

Each spring, Capitol Hill neighbors come together to honor individuals whose distinguished service to our community has benefited us all. Through the generosity of Capitol Hill residents and business owners who sponsor and attend the awards event, the Foundation raises funds to support its grants and projects.

We look forward to celebrating the 40th Annual Capitol Hill Community Achievement Awards on Wednesday, May 22, with a Garden Party and Awards Presentation at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. The 2024 honorees are Vera Oyé Yaa-Anna, storyteller and educator; Jane Lang, founder of the Atlas Performing Arts Center; and Michael Witmore, director of the Folger Shakespeare Library.

In addition, at this year’s awards event we will honor the recipients of the Foundation’s two annual $25,000 grants. Mosaic Theater Company is receiving the John Franzén Award for the Arts, and Sasha Bruce Youthwork is receiving the Arnold F. Keller, Jr., Grant.

Once again, passed and plated hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Well Dunn Catering.
