With only their lines memorized and a single rehearsal, The Taffety Punk Bootleggers will be performing part three of their trilogy, Bootleg Shakespeare, Don't miss what is sure to be an amazing performance, Monday, July 16, 2018 at 7:30pm in the Folger Theater. Tickets are free and will be available at the box office at 6pm the day of the performance. Limit two tickets per person and first come, first serve.
Service Never Sleeps' (SNS), one of CHCF's grantees, is hosting a free "Allyship" workshop on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 10am to 4pm at the William Penn House. The workshop establishes “Allyship” as an active way of life that exercises bridge-buidling to ensure equality, opportunity, and inclusion for everyone. Learn to be effective allies that center marginalized communities, actively influence and educate others, and constantly work on themselves. Click here to RSVP.
The Congressional Chorus and the American Youth Chorus are currently accepting auditions for the 2018-2019 season. Interested individuals should contact David Simmons at firstname.lastname@example.org to audition for the Congressional Chorus, or Susan Kennedy at aycmanager@congressionalchorus,org for the American Youth Chorus.
Auditions will take place on June 27th, July 18th, August 7th and August 28th.
On May 24, 2018, Capitol Hill Community Foundation distributed over $181,000 in grant funds, with 85 grants given as part of our “Seasonal Grants” program. These grants awarded up to $2,500 to support various initiatives such as school- and youth-based programs, social services, arts programs to beautify Capitol Hill, cultural events and other programs working to benefit our community.
Applications for the Fall 2018 grants will be due on Monday, September 24, 2018.
