Support the Capitol Hill Community Foundation
We are a community organization funded entirely by contributions from Capitol Hill neighbors and friends. We support activities, projects and groups that enrich the lives of residents and celebrate the history and beauty of our community.
Capper Seniors Recovery Fund
The Capitol Hill community exhibited an astounding outpouring of support for our neighbors impacted by the fire at the Capper Seniors Building on September 19th.
The Foundation, partnering with the Van Ness Elementary School PTO, ANC Commissioner Meredith Fascett, and Ward 6 Council Member Charles Allen, created a fund to help residents displaced by the fire. Neighbors and local businesses all contributed to this fund, raising over $330,00 in a short period of time.
With the assistance of the American Red Cross, money from this fund was distributed to the leaseholders of the 160 apartments destroyed by the fire.
CHCF relies entirely on voluntary donations, and seeks your contribution in the form of cash, securities, or real estate.
